This year Shasta Growers Association will be operating the Redding Certified Farmers Market for the 33rd consecutive year. It is the goal of our association to protect the local family farmers and provide a market for their produce. A Certified Farmers Market assures the customer that the produce being offered for sale was grown or produced by the grower. This assurance is made by the Department of Agriculture through whom the farmer must file an Annual Producers Certificate and be subject to inspection for verification. Some of our farmers are either registered Organic by the State or Certified Organic by a private Certifying Organization. Farmers markets are the best place to buy fresh, wholesome, locally grown produce at a reasonable price.
